ROBERTS-Hazel M. Roberts, 100 yrs old, of Wesley Chapel, FL,formerly of Angelica, NY was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday March 15, 2012 in Tampa, FL,
She was born in Angelica, NY December 30, 1911 to William and Pearl Isaman Child. She graduated from the Wilsonian High School in Angelica and attended Beauty School in Hornell, NY. She operated a Beauty Shop for years and later owned and operated a restaurant both in Angelica. She married William Luell Roberts in 1932 and enjoyed sixty two years of devoted marriage until Luell's death in1995. Together they owned and operated Roberts Furniture Store and Propane Gas business in Angelica until their retirement. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the First Baptist Church of Angelica. Hazel's life was devoted to her home and her family. She was well known for her homemade pies. She enjoyed gardening and always had beautiful flower beds. In her later years she lived with her daughter and son in law, Jean and Lou Struble of Wesley Chapel, FL and her constant canine companion Charlie. Her hobbies there included art work and crocheting. She crafted nearly 500 baby hats for newborns in two local hospitals in Tampa.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her Daughter Jean (Lou) Struble of Wesley Chapel, FL and her son Dick (Marcy) Roberts of Sayre, PA. Daughter in law, Sandy Roberts of Endicott, NY. Grandchildren Debbie Roberts of Endicott,NY; Cheri (Marty) Greco of Endwell,NY; Kathy (Chris) Snyder of Lutz, FL; Karen (Brice) Urquhart of Downingtown, PA; Scott (Melanie) Roberts of Lindingo, Sweden and Michelle (Bob) Rowlands of Dallas, PA.
Great Grandchildren, Brian, Collin, and Devon Greco; Jacob and Hannah Snyder; Dane and Cole Urquhart ; Zachary, Nathan and Isabella Roberts. Also several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband Luell in 1995,Son, Donald in 2008 Daughter, Joyce Elaine in 1939 and two sisters, Olive Travis and Violet Meckley.
The family will be present Wednesday (March 21, 2012) at the Angelica Baptist Church, Angelica, NY from noon to 2 PM to receive family and friends. Funeral Services will be held there immediately following at 2 PM.
