Hazel M. Carlin, 76, of 38 Pine Street, passed away peacefully, Saturday (September 7, 2013) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Duncan, OK, September 15, 1936, the daughter of Marion and Ruby (Beully) Murrell, she was a lifelong area resident. Hazel retired from the former Nichols Department Store, as the Shoe Department manager. She loved to travel, and enjoyed her coffee club at McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts. Hazel's greatest love was her family and being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband William F. Carlin on June 1, 1986, whom she married on April 9,1953. She was also predeceased by her sister Wanda Murrell, and brother Winfred Murrell.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Debra (Nicholas) Alexin of Hornell, Vicky (Timothy) Dowler of Ohio, 2 sons Robert (Patricia) Carlin of Hornell, Richard (Sandra) Carlin of Arkport, 12 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
The family will be present 4-7pm Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Champlin Cemetery in Cowanesque, Pennsylvania.
