Hazel Viola "Vi" Child, 82, formerly of North Main St, passed away Sunday (January 3, 2010) at Cuba Memorial Hospital.
Born in Humphrey, May 2, 1927, the daughter of George and Mina Childs Baker, she had been an Angelica resident for 62 years. Vi was a very active member of the Angelica American Legion Auxillary, had attended the Angelica Episcopal Church for many years, and had been a long time avid bowler.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Roderick "Babe" Child in 1994, 5 sisters Laura Rinko, Agnes Emerson, Alberta Rinko, Dora Button, Cora Davies, 3 brothers George, John and Almond Baker.
She is survived by 2 daughters Anita Child Boehl of Rochester, Elaine (Leonard) Child Gasiewicz of Angelica, a son Eric (Betsy Daggett) Child of Angelica, a sister Vida Williams of Machias, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family will be present 2-4 &7-9 pm Thursday, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica, where Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 11:00 AM, with The Rev. Marian Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Until The Day Dawn Cemetery.
