Harvey A. Houghtaling, 66, of Foster Lane, passed away early Tuesday morning (April 3, 2018) at home.
Born in Hornell, NY, February 24, 1952, a son of Richard and Ethel (Ball) Houghtaling, he had resided in the Hornell area all of his life, and served in the US Marines from 1980-1986. Harvey was a truck driver for Rawleigh Trucking in Arkport. He was very proud that he has celebrated 23 years of sobriety. Harvey was a very active member in the local AA's where he was a mentor to several people.
He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters; Daisy Quant and Etta Teribury, and a brother-in-law; Rocky Howard.
He is survived by his longtime companion Robyn Stephens of Hornell, 5 sons; Harvey (Sarah) Feil, Rodney Stephens, John Stephens, Andrew Stephens, and Nicholas (Kaitlin) Stephens, a daughter; Melissa (Chris) Brace, his close friend; Deb Feil, 3 brothers; Joe (Faye) Houghtaling, Lee Houghtaling, and Mike (Carey) Houghtaling, 3 sisters; Patricia (Jacinto) Rodriguez, Linda Chace and Ella Howard, 2 brothers-in-law; Lloyd Quant and Carl Teribury, 8 grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present on Friday (April 6, 2018) from 1-3PM, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where a memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3PM, Rev. Pat Harrison officiating. A coffee hour will be held after the services at the Arkport Community Building.
