Hartley B. "Pete" Maxson, 83, of 37 East Main Street, passed away peacefully Monday (July 9, 2012) at the Wellsville Manor.



Born in Angelica, August 8, 1928, the son of Lintner "Bus" and Bess (Dickson) Maxson, he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from the former Angelica Central School "Class of 1946.", and later that year joining the US Military. He retired from Air-Preheater in Wellsville as a Senior Proposal Engineer. Pete was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the Angelica Masonic Lodge #818, the CCAC serving as treasurer, and was a long time board member of the Angelica Free Library also serving as treasurer. Pete enjoyed working outdoors, gardening and keeping his property in pristine condition.



He was predeceased by his parents as well as his son Gregg B. Maxson in 2007.



He is survived by his wife Sally Maxson, his son Scott Maxson of Angelica, his sister Marilyn (Dean) Scott of Belfast, his brother and sister in law Alan (Ilse) Kitchen of Arizona, several nieces, nephews and many friends.



The family will be present 2-4pm Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica, where a Masonic, and a Funeral service will be held at 4:00pm with the Rev. Tim Middleton officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery.
