Harold Hackett Jr.
Passed away October 15, 2023 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center at the age of 87.
He was married December 28, 1960, to Sandra (Perry) Hackett who survives. Also surviving are his children Michael of Richmond, VA, Shelly (Jeff) Brown of Almond, NY; grandchildren Samantha Van Buren, Cheryl Hackett, Jamie (Diego) Heras, Jennifer (Ash) Hackett and Cassie (Robert) Tyler; 6 great grandchildren, his sister, Carol Leet of Coudersport, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Proceeded by parents, Harold B. and Mabel Hackett, siblings Joyce Petrovick, John Hackett and granddaughter Jessica Lynn Brown.
A graduate of Coudersport High School, Mansfield University, Alfred University and Montclair University.
Hal was employed by AACS and Alfred State College, retiring after 38 years of teaching mathematics. Hal enjoyed coaching, golf, playing card, Sunday social gatherings and family times especially playing with his great-grandchildren.
He was a founding member of NYSMATIC serving as the third president. Lions Clubs Member of both Alfred and Almond and a member of the Wellsville Country Club.
A Celebration of Life will be at the Almond Community Church, Almond NY on Saturday November 25th service at 2 pm with a social gathering until 4pm follow the service.
In Lieu of Flowers the family requests that you make a donation in Hal's honor to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice.
