Harold L. Hilyard, 76, of Church Street Court, formerly of Stephens Street in Canisteo passed away unexpectedly Friday (June 10, 2016) at his home.
Born in Canisteo, November 18, 1939, the son of Henry and Jennie Karns Hilyard, he had resided in Hornell-Canisteo area all his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Virginia Stephens Hilyard as well as nine of his ten siblings including his twin brother, Henry Hilyard.
He had been employed on the Mahaney Farms in Arkport for several years and later at the former Hornell Twin Cinema. He served his country as a member of the United States Army.
He is survived by his sister, Hazel Kromer of Hornell and several nieces and nephews.
