Glenn D Swift, 84, of

265 Grand Street, passed away Saturday (July 21, 2007) at St. James Hospital.



Born in Canisteo, August 14, 1922, the son of Ray S and Emma M Johnson Swift,he had been a lifelong area resident. He had served our country in the US CoastGuard and US Navy during World War II, was a member of the Hornell UnitedPresbyterian Church , also a member of the Hornellsville Lodge #44 F & AM.He had worked for the Erie Railroad as a Fireman, and then the Erie Lackawanaand Conrail as an Engineer retiring after 42 years of service. Glenn was anavid woodworker and enjoyed traveling to the reunions for retired Rail roadengineers.



He was predeceased by his son Daniel Swift in 1973, 2brothers Eldon and Charles Swift and his sister Lois Harrison.



He is survived by Dianna (Paul) Willsey of Pittsford,Cynthia (Michael) Costa of Retsof 7grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, his special friend Roberta Bishop ofHornell and many nieces & nephews.



The family will be present 4-8pm Tuesday, at the Bender - Brown & Powers FuneralHome,

354 Canisteo St,Hornell, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 1:00 PM, withRev. David Kilgore officiating.Burial will in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo,with full military honors.



Masonic memorial service will be held Tuesday, at 7:30PM at the Funeral Home
