Gertrude E. Creeley

Gertrude E. Creeley, 92, formerly of the Airport Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (April 10, 2011) at the Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Care in Bath.
Born in Stoneham, PA, June 6, 1918, the daughter of Harry and Amelia Michaels Hillyard, she had resided in Addison and Jamestown but most of her life in the Jasper & Hornell area. She was a member of the Glad Tiding Assembly of God in North Hornell. Gertrude had been employed at the former "Big N" and Woolworths in Hornell.
She was predeceased by her son, Edward Lee Creeley in 1983, her husband Harold John Creeley Jr. in 1991, as well as her sister Helen White and her brother Walter Hillyard.
She is survived by one daughter: Carol (Dan) McGuire of Florida, five sons: Lawrence (Billie) Creeley of Adrian, Duane (Ruth) Creeley of Hammondsport, Harold (Ruthie) Creeley of Painted Post, Paul (Shirley) Creeley of Virginia and Ronald (Cheryl) Creeley. Of Hornell. 27 Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, nieces & nephews as well as dear friends, Richie and Shirley Spangler of Hornell.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery.
