Gerald E. Woolever

Gerald E Woolever, 89, of Elderwood, passed away on Monday (February 3, 2025) surrounded by his loving Family.
Born in Hornell on May 26, 1935, he was the son of Harold and Leola Woolever. After Graduating from Hornell High School in 1953, he worked various jobs prior to marrying Nancy L. Conner on February 15, 1958. Gerald then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1958 to 1960 living in Boston, or as he liked to say, "Beantown." He and Nancy then returned to Hornell to raise their family.
Gerald enjoyed spending time with his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also took great pride in building his home, as well as helping his son and grandson build Railhead Brewing Company. He was always more than willing to help out anyone who needed assistance with anything, Gerald was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, as well and his parents Harold and Leola.
He is survived by his son David (Donna) Woolever, daughter Cheryl (Gary) Kelleher, grandchildren Jennifer (Andy Miller) Woolever, David (Marieka) Woolever, Rachael (Stephen) Davis, Gary (Natalie) Kelleher, Kristen (Jason) Baldwin, great-grandchildren Benjamin Woolever, Abigail Woolever, Connor Davis.
At the family's request, there will be no public calling hours, with a private Funeral Service for the family at Brown and Powers Funeral Home with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Hornell's Rural Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Updykes Willow Ridge, and Elderwood Nursing Home for the care of Gerald.
