Gerald M. Welty, 90, of

2520 Turnpike Road,passed away Monday (October 30, 2006) at the Vincent Housein Wayland.



Born in Jasper, May 24, 1916, the son of Emmett and Viva L. White Welty, he had resided in Hornell most all of his life. He served his country during WW-2, as amember of the United States Army and waslater employed as an auto mechanic for the former Arkport Motors, ShayTrucking, Isaman Motors and retired from the FordGarage in Bathin 1980.



He was predeceased by his wife MableWelty in 2000.



He is survived by one daughter: Cherie Hobson of Genesee, PA,one son: Charles Welty of North Hornell, Step-son, Major Ronald (Doris) Dake of Apple Creek,OHIO; Step-daughter, Audretta Luna of TX, severalgrand, great grand and great great grandchildren.



The family will be presentto receive friends from11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday at the Bender - Brown & PowersFuneral Home,

354 Canisteo St,Hornell where funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00PM, Majors Charles and Marie Harris officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
