Gerald L. "Jerry" Roe, 61, of

7650 Doorley Road,passed away peacefully Thursday (May 6, 2004) at his homesurrounded by his family.



Born in Canisteo, July 28, 1942, the son of RexSaxton and Anna Eileen Roe, he had resided all his life in the Hornell-Canisteo area. He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 -1966, and had been employed as a heavy equipmentoperator for A.L. Blades in Hornell. Hewas a member of the Hornell American Legion, the Dansville Post, VFW, and theHornell Elks Lodge.



He is survived by hiswife, Cindy Sears Roe whom he married on Oct. 4, 1968;one daughter: Phena Roe, of Hornell, HalfSister, Judy (Russell) Stevens ofCanisteo; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.



The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PMMonday, at the Bender-Brown & Powers FuneralHome,

354 Canisteo St., Hornell whereFuneral services will be held followingcalling hours at 1 :00 PM, RevDudley Jenkins officiating.Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
