227 Grand Street, passed awayunexpectedly Thursday (October 25, 2007) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Rochester,April 19, 1943,the son of Harold and Eunice Thayer Class,he had resided in Hornell since 1985. While living in Rochester, he was employed by Joe BensonTowing. He was a member of the HornellBranch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was predeceased by his parents and one grandson. Infant Boy Class in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne GillmerClass whom he married June 22,1981, his children Sharon (Donald Pierce) Welch , Charles "Chazz" (Mary) Classand Thomas (Teresa) Class and SueRobbins all of Hornell, one brother, Charles (Dawn) Class of Rochester,grandchildren, Danny, Tiffiany, Kelsey, Dillon,Lindsey, Audrey, and Kayla, 2 step-grandsons, Lee Wheaton and DakotaButler, nieces & nephews including John (Dena) Corcoran, Mike(Cheryl) Corcoran, James Sherbert, Timothy (Becky) Sherbert and Christopher Sherbert,as well as his adopted family.

The family will observe a private committal service at the Fremont Cemetery in Stephens Mills. Family andfriends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday at 11 AM at the Hornell Branch of theChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Avenue of the Oaks, Arkport, New York.President Rusty Simon will officiate.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank theHornell Ambulance Crew for their quick response and efforts to assist Geraldwhen he became ill at his home on Thursday morning.
