George W. VanDerMark, 90, of
11 5th Street, passed away Saturday (August 16, 2008) at hishome.
Born in Homer, February 16, 1918, the sonof Leonard and Teressa Daily VanDerMark, he had resided his early life in Cortland, moving toHornell in 1977, and later to Canisteo 2 years ago. He served his countryduring WW-2, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. George retired as acustodian from Arkport Central School.
He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, G.Albert VanDerMark.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Davison VanDerMark, hischildren Dale VanDerMark and Karen McDonald, his 2 sisters, Harriet Buckley andEvelyn Downes, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
