George V. Hilsdorf, 88, formerly of Co RT. 66, passed away Saturday (September 4, 2010) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Hornell, October 1, 1921, the son of Conrad C. and Louise (Knopf) Hilsdorf Sr., he had resided in the Hornell area all of his life. George served his country in the United States Army serving in WWII. He owned and operated Hilsdorf Farms all of his life. George will be remember for his love of people and as a very giving person.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as three sisters, Ethel Diehl, Mable Shuster and Celia Lons.
He is survived by two sisters; Clara Clark of Arkport and Mary (Otis) Preston of Arkport, three brothers; Charles Hilsdorf of Hornell, Herman (Marge) Hilsdorf of Hornell and Conrad (Eloise) Hilsdorf of Canisteo, special friend, Anne Bruno of Almond, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (Sept. 7, 2010) from 11AM until 1PM, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at the Conclusion of calling hours at 1PM. Burial will be in Rogersville Forrest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville.
