Genevieve C. Rutski, formerly of Crosby St.. passed away Monday (Sept. 10, 2012) at McAuley Manor.
Born in Blossburg, PA, December 1, 1915, the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth (Strong) Rutski, she had moved to the Hornell area in 1977. Genevieve served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1954 and achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant . She was a graduate of the St. James Hospital School of Nursing and was instrumental in opening a two year Nursing School at Vincennes University in Indiana. She retired from the VA Medical Center in New York City. Genevieve was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicate of St. Ann's Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Walter O. Rutski Sr. and Sister-in-law, Mary Ann Rutski as well as her nephew, Walter O. Rutski Jr.
She is survived by her niece, Cherlyn (Dunior) Rutski of Hornell as well as several cousins.
