Geneva L. French, 92, of
172 Terry St, passed away Thursday (October 30, 2008) at home.
Born in Groveland, July 26, 1916, the daughter of Emery and Mary Elizabeth (Bovee) Drew, she had resided in Hornell for 68 years until1997 before moving to Howard. She was employed as a waitress as well as a cookat the lunch counter for the former Cards Drug Store. Geneva was a Social Member of the Hornell VFW#2250, the Hornell Lodge #620 and the Women of the Moose. Geneva was also an avid Bingo Player.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husbandWilliam French Sr. in 1997, one son Ronald Lee French in 1945.
She is survived by one son, William (Peggy) French Jr. of Florida, one daughter,Loretta Smith of Hornell and one brother James Drew of Rochester, two grandchildren and severalnieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends Saturday (November 1, 2008) from 6PM-8PM at the Robertson Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo St,Hornell. Funeral services will follow callinghours at 8PM at the funeralhome. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery,Hornell.
