Geneva J Dorvit, 68, of 5433 County Rte 48, passed away Tuesday (December 15, 2009) at Strong Memorial Hospital.



Born in Angelica, September 13, 1941, the daughter of Walter H and Mildred Fuller Patterson Sr, she had been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Angelica School, attended the Genesis Bible Church and was a member of the Belmont Legion. Geneva retired from the former Belmont Central School, and had been a house cleaner in the Belmont, Angelica, and Florida areas. She enjoyed crafts, painting, sewing, writing poems, but most of all Geneva will be remembered for the love and generosity for her entire family.



She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Walter Jr, Richard, Daniel and Kenneth Patterson, and her former husband Vern Dorvit in 2000.



She is survived by her children Cathy J Schultz of Belmont, Jeannine (David) Morehouse of Florida, Debora Burnell of Belmont, and Russell (Shawn) Dorvit of Little Genesee, sisters Millicent (Milton) Newcomb of Belmont, Anne (Tony) Dodge of Webster, Genevieve Patterson of Belmont, Ida (Don) Case of Angelica, Barbara (Jack) Light of Portville, brother Roger (Cindy) Patterson of Angelica, grandchildren Crystal Smith, Shane and Michelle McCloskey, Jennifer Crandall, Jamie(David) Buffamonti, Joleen Sweet, Jodie Schultz, Jeremiah and Joshua (Carrie) Burnell, Christel Schultz, Derrick and Travis Dorvit and Nickolas Covert, great grandchildren Chynise, Kristen, and Justice Logue, Trenon Zeager, Danika Cline, Devin Carmichael, Brock White, Joey and Kegin Sweet, Mikey Buffamonti, Hayley Rohrer, Sean Kurtz, Allana, Mia, Tristan, Aleigh, Colton, Alisa, Tycota, and Shelby Burnell and Ian Barnett, several nieces and nephews.



The family will be present 7-9pm Friday, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica, and 1-3pm Saturday, where funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, with the Rev. Marc Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery, Belmont.
