Gayle Renee Sanford Peters, 61, formerly of Canisteo, passed away January 15, 2024 in Brooksville, Florida following a long battle with cancer. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus where she was reunited with her brother Tim who passed in 2005, her grandparents, her uncle Bradley Wood and many other relatives and friends. She will be there waiting the arrival of many other relatives and friends that she left behind.
Gayle was born in Hornell, the daughter of Max and Bonnie Wood Sanford. Gayle was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, class of 1980. She later married Mark Peters and they moved to Rochester where she was employed at Walmart for 29 years. During that time they welcomed their son Shae into the family.
When she learned that her cancer had spread and she had only a few months left on this earth before reaching her final destination with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she decided to move to Florida to be with her mother in her final days.
