Gary L. Vanderhoef, 72, longtime resident of Greenwood and the Bath area, passed away peacefully Saturday (March 3, 2018) at the Steuben Centers in Bath.
Born in Hornell July 25, 1945, the son of Lynn and Frances Fox Vanderhoef, he was a graduate of Corning Community College, following his high school graduation. In later years, he was employed by Steuben ARC.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife; Yvonne "Yogi" Palyan, to whom he was married October 12, 2002, his sister Judy, and his brothers; Edwin, William, Robert, Lynn Jr., and James Vanderhoef.
He is survived by his sisters; Frances Lunsford of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, and Kay (Jim Manry) Butler of Bath, his brothers; Larry (Idamay) Vanderhoef of Hornell and Royce (Mary Nilson) Vanderhoef of Canisteo, his three sisters-in-law; Barbara, Vivian and Michele, his special canine friend "Asia", and his special aunt and uncle; Paul and Mary Fox of Arizona, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender- Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell on Saturday from 1 PM until 2 PM at which time services will be held. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
