Gary L. Towner, 55, of Elm St., passed away Wednesday (December 28, 2011) at home.
Born in Hornell, August 26, 1956, the son of Harold and Eloise (Swift) Towner Sr., he had resided in Dansville since 1991. Gary served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a graduate of the Hornell Senior High School. He had been employed as a machinist for the former Foster Wheeler Corp. in Dansville. He loved to watch TV, play on the computer, but above loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as one brother; Harold Towner.
He is survived by his loving wife; Cheryl (Gayhart) Towner whom he married on Jan. 19, 1980, one son; Gary L. (Alyssa) Towner Jr. of Wayland, one daughter; Christina (Nicholas) Roth of Japan, five grandchildren; Collin, Caleb, Elijah and Keegan Roth, Aubree Towner, two sisters; Cheryllene Towner of Almond and Shirley Towner of Freeville, Father and Mother-In-Law, Donald (Dorothy) Gayhart of Hornell, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday (December 31, 2011) from 11AM until 2PM, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours at 2PM.
