Frieda J. Godown, 98, who had resided with her son anddaughter-In Law, Lawrence and Doris Godown of
10 Cameron Avenue, passed away Monday (April 6, 2009) at St. James Hospital.
Born in AlexandriaTownship, NJ, May 1, 1910, the daughter ofDietrick and Marie Meyer Gallmeyer, shehad resided in New Jerseyuntil moving to Andoverabout 1968. She moved to Hornell about 5 years ago. Frieda had resided at the Seager-Bates Homein Hornell for the past year. She was a member of the Frenchtown PresbyterianChurch in Frenchtown, NJ, and had been an active member of theFrenchtown Senior Citizens for several years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur Godown in 1977,her grandson, Rodney Godown, and her son Donald Godown.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence andDoris Godown of Hornell, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The family will be presenton Thursday from 7 PMuntil 8PM at the Bender -Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services willfollow at 8 PM. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, NewJersey.
