Frederick R Green, 85, of

15 Albion Street, passed away Saturday (April 25, 2009) at the BathVAMC.



Born in Wellsville, January 27, 1924, the sonof Grant and Mabel VanCuren Green, he had been a lifelong area resident. Fred hadserved in the US Army during World War II. He married the former Florence Dodgeon August 19, 1951 who survives. Fred was aretired meat cutter, and had worked for the former A & P, and Super Duper,and most recently worked part time at CY's Shur-Fine in Arkport. He was a lifemember of the Hornell VFW, and the Belmont Legion. Fred's hobbies weregardening, associating with his friendsat the VFW & Legion, and most importantly his family.



He is survived by his wife Florence Green, 2 daughters Debra(Fred) Eberline, of NC, Tammy (Ted) Jones of Arkport, 3 sons Robert (Wende)Green of Hornell, James (Pat) Green of Hornell, John (Sue) Green of Hornell, 9grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.



A Memorial service will be Thursday (April 30, 2009) at the Bath VA Chapelat 12:00noon, with Military honors to follow. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery. A receptionwill be at the Hornell VFW at 3:00pm.



Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Bender-Brown &Powers Funeral Home of Hornell. Family is assisted by Chester A Gosper IV.
