Fred Foster, 77, of 9314 Middle Road, passed away Saturday (June 15, 2013) at ECMC in Buffalo, New York.
Born in Cheektowaga, October 9, 1935, the son of Alfred and Elva (Kephart) Foster, he had resided in Allen/Angelica area for many years. He had served in the US Navy for four years, and 2 years in the Reserves. Fred was retired from the Town of Allen, where he had worked as a truck driver and mechanic. He had also worked on the building of the Southern Tier Expressway through Allegany County, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid reader.
He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Simmons Foster whom he married in 1983, a daughter Ethel (Lee) Mathena of Sultan, WA, 2 sons Paul Foster of Angelica, Fred (Dawn) Foster Jr. of Longwood, FL, 3 grandchildren Derek & Ashley Mathena, and Malaya Foster, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue Angelica, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. David Ford officiating. Burial will be in Basswood Hill Cemetery in the Town of Allen.
