Frank N. White, 90, of Airport Road, passed away Saturday (July 23, 2005) ..
Born on April 10, 1915, in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada to Elmer and Cora White, he spent his childhood in Kansas before moving to the Hornell area in 1934. In 1936, he married Wilma Varnes of Avoca.
A navy veteran of WWII, he was a life member of the Hornell VFW Post #2250, a member of the American Legion, Arthur H. Cunningham Post, and the Elks Lodge #364. Frank was also the oldest living member of the Local Operating Engineers Union #832 of Rochester.
Frank was predeceased by his wife of 67 years in September 2002, as well as two sons, Jerry Howard and Kevin Eugene, two daughters, Judith Anne and June Frances, two sons-in-law, Richard Magee and Bruce Davis and five sisters..
Survivors include: Gaildean Davis of Minnesota, Evonne (Donald) Patterson of Virginia, Doris (Walter) Mills of Ohio, Larry F. White of Hornell, Michael D (Linda) White of Almond, Christopher (Tammy) White of Hornell and special friend of the family, Linda Mehlenbacher of Canaseraga. Frank is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo St., Hornell from 7-9 PM this evening and from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Tuesday where funeral services will follow calling hours at Noon. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
