Francisca Pinheiro, 91, of 17 Bennett St., passed away Friday morning (May 3, 2013) at her home.
A native of Cuba, she was born February 20, 1922, the daughter of Diego and Isabel Reina Lopez, and immigrated to the United States when she was in her early 20's. She resided in New Jersey and New York City for several years and was employed as a seamstress. Francisca moved to Hornell about 10 years ago to reside with her grand daughter, Dr. Lillian Ramos-Hendrickson. She was a member of Our Lady of The Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Hornell. Francisca will be remembered for her love of children and roses, photography and especially being able to reside with her granddaughter, Lillian.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Antonio Pinheiro and her step daughter, Olivia Ramos.
She is survived by her sister, Aida Puentes of Long Island, her brother, Mario Lopez of New York City, her step daughter, Carmen Pinheiro of Arizona, her grandchildren; Dr. Lillian Ramos-Hendrickson (Jerry) of Hornell, Domingo Ramos Jr. of Arizona, Julie Hennessy of Colorado and Jacqueline Caceras of Mass. Her grandchildren Samuel and Amanda Hendrickson of Hornell, nieces & nephews including Arlene Puentes of Kingston, Mary Ann Puentes and Gilbert Puentes both of Long Island.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 7-9 PM at the Robertson Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetry, Totowa, New Jersey.
