Francis L. "Larry" Harwood,62, of
211 Madison Ave.,passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (February 20, 2007) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Canisteo, June 16, 1944, the son of Warrenand Barbara Hallett Harwood, he had resided in Hornellmost all his life. He served his country as a member of the United States Armyfrom 1960-1964. He had been employed forseveral years as truck driver for the former Hornell Wholesale, and later, Feenaughty and Allen Lumber Company in Canisteo. At thetime of his death, he was employed at A.L. Blades in Hornell. Larry was amember and Past Commander of the AMVETS Post #245 of Hornell, the ArkportAmerican Legion, Hornell Moose Lodge #210, and the Hornell Association.
He is survived by hiswife, Patricia Whalen Harwood ofHornell, 2 sons, William (Heather) Harwood and Warren E. Harwood II, both ofHornell, 5 sisters, Linda (Greg) Kerr , Patricia (Thomas) Bebout,Wanda (Don) Lewis, Bonnie (Arthur) Turner, and Cheryl (Ronald) Creeley all of Hornell, 2 brothers, Warren (Carolyn)Harwood and Gary (Melody) Harwood, both of Hornell, 3 grandchildren, Sadie andWarren Harwood, Sophia Harwood all of Hornell, several nieces, nephews, greatnieces & nephews as well as one great greatniece.
The family will be presentto receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers FuneralHome, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where a memorial service will be held by theAMVETS Post 245 of Hornell on Friday at7:30 PM Funeral services with MilitaryHonors will be held onSaturday at 11 AM with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery,Hornell.
