Frances Griffin, 76, a resident of Willow Point Nursing Home, a former resident of Hornell, passed away Sunday December 30, 2012.
She was born in Greenwood, August 6, 1936, the daughter of George and Ina (McCormick) Burdick. Frances had been a housekeeper in the Hornell area for twenty plus years. Frances had many interests including sewing, baking, jigsaw puzzles, an avid BINGO player. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was so well loved by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her 2 husbands George Chapman in 1969, Arthur Griffin in 1979 and 2 sisters Ellen Burdick, and Ruth Burdick.
She is survived by her daughter Louise (Frank) Haberer of Florida, her sister Mary MicGlire of Newark, NY, her brother Merle Burdick of Wellsville, her 3 grandchildren James Hall of Hornell, Sara Haberer of Endicott, Tricia Haberer of Florida, her loving niece Kimberly Mosher of Hornell, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will be present 4-5pm Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM, with Alfred Wheaton officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, Stephens Mills.
