Frances M. Ellis, 85, of 4503 County Road 16, passed away Monday (May 23, 2011) at Absolut

at Houghton.



Born in Java Center, May 10, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Berthold) Delaney. She graduated from Arcade Central School Class of 1944, moving to the Rushford Lake in 1951, and later to Angelica in the mid 1980's. She married John E. Ellis on April 5, 1951 in Arcade. Frances had worked as a waitress in Arcade, as well as working for Motorola, and the former Monroe Games also in Arcade. She later worked for Absolut at Houghton, but her favorite job was being a homemaker. Frances enjoyed bird watching, sewing, cooking, baking, animals, babysitting, the Buffalo Sabres, and the New York Yankees.



She was predeceased by her husband John E. Ellis on January 30, 1974, as well as a sister Kathryn Cole, and 3 brothers Harold, Burton, and William Delaney.



She is survived by 6 daughters Anne (Ken) Geist of Angelica, Luana Ellis (John Stengel) of Friendship, Susan Ellis (Dan Hayton) of PA, Nancy (Ed) Wilson of Wellsville, Mary Jane (Bob) Radel of AZ, Lisa (Ken) Price of VA, a son Michael Ellis of Angelica, 3 sisters Marion Irving, Georgia Hillman, and Carol (Neal) Dennis,12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.



The family will be present 1-3pm Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica, where funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, with the Rev. David Cooke officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Belfast.
