Florence Anna Perkins, 78, formerly of Alfred Station passed away (July 15, 2013) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell.
Born in Wellsville, September 24, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Anna Firman Newland, she had resided in Alfred Station most of her life. In 1957 she married Orville H. Perkins Jr. who passed away in 2011. She was a member of the Alfred Seventh Day Baptist Church and very much enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as her cats. Florence loved watching her birds; they were the highlight of her days.
In addition to her parents and husband Florence was predeceased by her infant children, Evelyn and Donald Perkins, three sisters, Elva Baker, Linda and Lucinda Newland.
She is survived by five sons, Carl (Joyce) Thompson of Greenwood, Orville (Donna) Perkins III of Alfred Station, John (Debbie) Perkins of Arkport, Larry (Mary) Perkins of Andover and Stephen Perkins of Wellsville, two daughters, Brenda (Glen) Kruger of Wellsville and Linda (Charles) Reid of S.C., 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, two sisters, Marie Canfield and Marian Fitch both of Wellsville.
