Flo Messing, 91, of
4012 County Rte. 108, passed away Wednesday (March 17, 2004) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Baltimore, MD, September 9, 1912, the daughter of Jamesand Marie Burnham,she had been a lifelong resident of the Hornell/Canisteo area. Flohad been a communicant of St. Joachims and St. Ignatius churches, and enjoyedvolunteering at the Hornell Area Humane Society. A devout Catholic, Flo was alover of all animals, enjoyed baking for people, and enjoyed nature. She wasreferred by many as "Flo", "Flo-Flo", "Lady friend" or "neighborhood friend".Flo loved kids, and many kids adopted her as there grandmother.
She was predeceased by her son Mark Messing in 1985.
She is survived by:

6 Spruce St.,Canisteo, where Funeral services will beSaturday 11:00 AM, Father Elias Menubaofficiating Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
The family of Flo ask donations be directed to the HornellArea SPCA PO Box 533 Hornell NY 14843, to honor her love of animals. Envelopeswill be available at the Funeral Home.
