Florence M. Terwilliger, 96, formerly Of North Almond Valley Road, passed away Thursday (November 22, 2012) at the Steuben County Health Care Facility.
Born in Detroit, MI, April 23, 1916, the daughter of William and Evelyn Brigham McComb, she had resided in the area since 1932. Florence attended Houghton College studying music. While at Houghton she met the love of her life, Harlow. She was employed for many years in the Housekeeping Department at the former Bethesda Community Hospital. She attended the Valley Wesleyan Church in Canaseraga. She was a church pianist for over 50 years playing at the Bishopville United Methodist Church as well as at the Valley Wesleyan Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Harlow Terwilliger in 1992, one son, David Terwilliger, in 2008, and her granddaughter, Lisa Babcock in 1995.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lois Ann (Stanley) Babcock of Arkport, and Carolyn (Claude) Meyers of Spencerport, 2 sons, James (Kay) Terwilliger of Hornell and Stephen (Beth Hills) Terwilliger of Cortland, one brother; Herbert McComb, one nephew Robert McComb, her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Terwilliger of Hornell, 13 grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Sunday (Nov. 25, 2012) from 3Pm until 5Pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at the funeral home at 6Pm, Rev. Terry Kelly and Jason Shambach officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport.
