Florence M. Lyke, 84, of 407 Fairview Avenue, passed away Monday (October 10, 2011) at her home.
Born in Hornell, July 3, 1927, the daughter of William and Agnes Lorow Murray, she had resided in Hornell nearly all her life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1946 and had been employed in the "Fox Hole" at at the Hornell YMCA for several years.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Clinton J. Lyke in 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Cox of Canisteo and her son Stephen Lyke also of Canisteo, 4 grandchildren; Christopher (Heather) Cox of Hornell, Timothy Cox of Olean, Amy (Shane) Schaumberg of Canisteo and Megan (Fiance Adam Haley) Lyke of Hornell, 4 great grandchildren, Johnathan, Collin and Tyler Cox and Brody Schaumberg.

The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday from 4 PM - 7 PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM, Rev. David Kilgore officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
