Florence M. Hurlburt, 79, of 33 Taylor Street, passed away Sunday (September 4, 2016) at the home of her daughter.
Born in North Hornell, February 17, 1937, the daughter of Samuel and Louisa Ellis, she had resided in Hornell most of her life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School and had been employed as a bus monitor for the Hornell School District.
She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Jamie McGregor and her grand daughter, Betty Jo Davis.
She is survived by four daughters, Karen Anderson of Wisconsin, Lydia Davis of Hornell, Mellissa Slaught of Hornell and Mary (Ernest) Myers of Hornell, with home she made her home for the past several years; her sister, Marion Weldy of Hornell, 11 grandchildren including Ashley L.A. Myers of Whitesville and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Friday from 5 until 7PM where Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:30 PM. Rev. Dudley Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport.
