Faith E. Orth, 90, former resident of Hornell, passed away Saturday (July 5, 2025) at the Corning Centers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center where she had resided the last six years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA. June 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Richard Ehrler Sr. and Carmen Boudwin Ehrler. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Ministerial Studies and while living in Pennsylvania, pastored United Methodist Churches in Ulysses, Mills, Middlefield, Rose Bloom, and Pleasant Brook. She had been employed as a secretary for over 10 years at Alfred University and taught Adult Education at the BOCES Campus in Hornell for several years. While residing in Hornell she was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Faith was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Carmen and Linda Ehrler, and Janice Gausline, as well as her brother, Richard Ehrler Jr. and longtime friend, Helen Terry of Hornell.
Surviving is her son, Joseph A .Orth Jr. of Elkland, PA., her daughter, Hope McLauighlin of Westfield, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Faith’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be in Mills Cemetery, Mills, PA. at the convenience of the family. Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Hornell is assisting the family with arrangements.
