Eugene E Hosmer, of 30 Seneca Street, passed away Monday ( February 21, 2011) at Strong Memorial Hospital.



Born in North Hornell, June 4, 1943, the son of William F Marvin and Eloise Marvin, he was an area resident for many years. He graduated from Hornell High School, and completed an auto mechanics course at the Allegany County Occupational Center in Belmont in 1977. Eugene had worked for the former Corbin Wood Products, the former General Tire Co. of Hornell, had engaged in painting, and carpentry, and also worked Charles F Oliver and Sons in Canaseraga. He enjoyed coloring, collecting coins, hunting, fishing, and attending the Aquinas Center in Hornell everyday. Eugene will be most remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, a dear friend to many, and also his great faith in God.



He is survived by his wife Linda Hurlburt Hosmer whom he married on April 10, 1992 in Hornell, also the mother of his children Mary Palmiter Bostic of Canisteo, 3 sons Matthew Hosmer of Canisteo, Kurt Hosmer of Canisteo, Bruce Hosmer of Hornell, 3 daughters Dawn (Mike) Daugherty of Conesus, Audra Briglin of Hornell, Marlene (Charles) Shiloh of Howard, 4 step children Bernie (Denise) Hults, Benji (Beth) Hults, Roger (Kelly) Hults, and Brett Hults all of Hornell, a brother James (Helen) Hosmer of TN, a sister Carolee (John) Jones of Garwoods, 13 grandchildren , 2 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews.



The family will be present on Thursday from 3-6pm at the Robertson Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where Funeral services will be held at 6:00pm with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, Stephens Mills on Friday at 11:00am.
