Etta M. Hendricks, 74, of 3200 State Route 248, passed away peacefully Thursday (November 5, 2009) at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Troupsburg, NY, February 16, 1935, the daughter of James and Mildred White Hendrickson, she had resided in the Greenwood area most of her life. Etta graduated from the Troupsburg central school and then worked at Marion Rohr. She then went on and drove a school bus for the Greenwood Central School. She owned and operated a small grocery store and gas station during the late 70's and early 80's in Rexville. Etta then worked as an LPN for Southern Tier Hospice and then retired as a Home Health Care Nurse in Rochester. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and most of all her family.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as two brothers; John C. Hendrickson and William F. Hendrickson.
She is survived by four sons; Ronald (Tammy) Hurd Jr., Stephen Moore, Robert Hurd and Jamie Hurd all of Greenwood, three sisters; Carolyn (jerry) Aldrich of Rathbone, Ernestine York of Troupsburg and Phyllis Dershem of Fayetteville N.C., two grandchildren, Haleigh Hurd of Greenwood and Randy Stewart of Hemlock, one great child Alexis Pratt.
