Ernest L. "Roy" Cartwright Jr., 74, of 710 Pine Knoll Park, passed away Thursday (April 15, 2010) at home.
Born in Alfred, September 16, 1935, the son of Ernest L. and Florence L. (Walter) Cartwright Sr., he had resided in the Alfred/Arkport area all his life. Roy had been employed as an Operating Engineer for the Baker Construction Company in Alfred for many years and was a member of the Addison as well as the Almond Rod & Gun Club. He was a great outdoorsman and loved his horses, hunting and farming.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Joanne Cartwright whom he married in 1955, one daughter Victoria (David) VanSkiver of Alfred, two sons, Rickie (Margaret) Cartwright of PA and Gary (Jeanne) Cartwright of Alfred, one brother, Keith Cartwright of Fl, one sister, Nancy Harvey of TN, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Following Roy's wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Alfred Station.
