Emily Ann Kent, 30, a resident of Sawyer Street Site, passed away Wednesday (Feb 7, 2024) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Hornell May 6, 1993, she was the daughter of Robert and Doris Mullen Houghtaling. She had resided all her life in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School. She attended the Hornell Bible Church.
Emily enjoyed photography especially sunset scenes, country music, and cats. She was especially enthralled by snowflakes.
Surviving are her son, Kylar Kent of Hornell, her husband, Cody Kent of Hornell, her mother, Doris Mullen-Houghtaling of North Hornell, and her father, Robert Houghtaling of Hornell. She is also survived by her half-sister, Alyssa Houghtaling of Hornell, one niece, Athena Skye Campbell , several cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2024) from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell where funeral services will follow calling hours at 1 PM with Rev. Luke Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Valley Brook Cemetery in Andover.
