Elzada May Rough, 77 , formerly ofAlfred, passed away Thursday (May25, 2006) at the Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born in Cochranton,PA., March 9, 1929, she was the daughter of Malcolmand Vera "Fern" Smock Deeter. Elzada had been aresident of Alfred from 1952 until moving to North Carolina in 2001. She had been employed at Crandall's BookStore, and later in the Acquisition Department at the Hinkle Library at SUNY,Alfred State College from 1968 until 1987.Because of her wonderful work ethic, it was never necessary for Elzada to search for employment, employers always soughther out. She was always very proud ofthis fact. She was a member of the Union University Church in Alfred, an honorary member of the Alpha KappaOmicron Sorority and the First United Methodist Church in Hickory, NorthCarolina.



She was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Ann Csete, and one sister, Elaine DeeterFlickinger Imes.



Surviving are her husband, Gaylord Rough to whom she wouldhave been married 57 years this August, one son, Allan (Marianne) Rough ofBowie, Maryland, one daughter, Linda (Ronald) Probstof Conover, North Carolina, her son-in-law, Stephe Csete of Illion, NY, 2 sisters,Lois (John) Gilliland and Martha (Duane) Peterson both of PA., 7 Grandchildren,Steven and Michael Csete, Samuel and Kali Nave,Rachael and Andrea Probst, and William Johnson.Nieces and Nephews.



The family will be present to receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday at the ROBERTSONFUNERAL HOME, New Location,

354 Canisteo Street, Hornell, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday at the Union University Churchin Alfred with Rev. Laurie DeMott officiating. Burialwill be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
