Elsie Ruth Everritt, 85, passed away Sunday (February 7, 2010) at McAuley Manor.
Born in Hornell, May 16, 1924, the daughter of Guy and Hazel Peck Harter, she was a lifelong area resident. Elsie had worked for the former Richtmyers and Loblaws Grocery stores.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold "Curly" Everritt in 1996, her sister Jane Nisbet in 2010, and her niece Linda Bachman in 1987.
She is survived by her brother Jack (Laura) Harter of Corning, nieces Ann Murray, Sally MacDougal, Karen Spart, Susan Longo, Tracy Phillips, and a nephew Richard Nisbet.
The family will be present 2-4PM Wednesday, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM, with the Rev. Dudley Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery. The family is being assisted by Chester A Gosper IV director.
