Ellen E. "Skip" Sheroshick, 68, of 48 Reynolds Ave., died Friday (March 5, 2010) at her daughters home surrounded by her family.



Born in Angelica, November 5, 1941, the daughter of Merton and Theresa Phillips Greene, she had resided in Hornell nearly all her life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1959, and had been employed by the former Morrison Knudsen in Hornell and retired from TTA in 2004. Skip had also been employed as a bartender in Hornell for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hornell VFW and the Hornell American Legion. Skip enjoyed bingo, bowling, shooting pool, cards and Yahtze. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Oakland Raiders Fan. She especially enjoyed fishing and spending time at Keuka Lake, but will be remembered for her love of family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Skip was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church.



She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Louis Sheroshick in 1994, her son Michael Sheroshick in 1999, her two brothers, George and Gordon Greene, and her companion of 10 years, Dan Kennedy,



She is survived by one Son David (Amy) Sheroshick, 4 Daughters, Donna (Dana Biddle) Kinnerney of Canisteo, Nancy (Shawn) Glover of Hornell, Anne (James) Latham of Belmont, Amy(Shawn Hensley) Sheroshick of Canisteo, her son, her sister, Joan (Don) Palinkas of Painted Post, her brothers, Melford (Mary) Greene of Arkport and James (Norma) Greene of Endwell,17 Grandchildren, James (Sarah)Briggs, Jennifer Briggs and Stephen Kinnerney all of Hornell, Jerald (Colleen) Briggs of Ohio, Kristen Briggs of Boston,Brianne (Louis) Young III of Addison, Shauna (Michael McCormick) Glover of Alfred, Michael, Theresa and Jason Latham all of Belmont, Kennedy and Haley Sheroshick both of Indiana, Kody and Kayla Stinson, Douglas Jr., Casey and Deborah Getman all of Hornell, 6 Great grandchildren, Desiree McGregor, Kaela Briggs, Brandon And Bradley Briggs, Louis Young 1V, and Riley Young. , Several nieces & nephews.



The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4&7-9PM Monday at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM, Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
