Elizabeth G. Wilcox, 91, of 58 Fulton Street, passed away Saturday (January 1, 2011) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Okmulgee, OK, February 1, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Ruby Cheauvrant O'Loughlin, she had resided in Hornell, since 1941. Elizabeth was retired from the Bryant School, where she had worked in the cafeteria. She was member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and communicant of St Ann's Church. She was also a member of the Hornell Moose, the Ladies Auxillary, and the former Eagles Club.
She was predeceased by her husband John R. Wilcox on March 25, 1974, also her parents, and 5 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her 3 sons Gregory (Christine) Wilcox of CA, Stephen A. Wilcox of Hornell, Dennis R. (Margaret) Wilcox of Rochester, 2 daughters Sarah E. (Frank) Carey of FLA, Ann Marie Cudoni of Hornell, a brother Bernard O'Loughlin of TX, 10 grandchildren Sean Carey, Alicia Dugo, Abigail McKee, Erin Carey, Andrew Wilcox, Benjamin Dugo, John Wilcox, Barbara Wilcox, Stephanie Wilcox, Graham Wilcox, and 8 great grandchildren.
The family will be observe a private visitation and funeral service at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Fremont.
