Elizabeth R. Flanagan, 65, of State Route 417, passed away peacefully Wednesday (February 17, 2016) at her daughter's home in Addison.



Born in Hornell, January 2, 1951, the daughter of Francis R. and Emily Flint Flanagan, she grew up in Howard, and had resided in the Hornell and Jasper area the rest of her life. She had been employed at St. James Mercy Hospital in the housekeeping department, and retired from the hospital as a CNA after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady Of The Valley Parish and a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hornell.



She was predeceased by her parents, and two sisters, Barbara Nankivell and Alice Tucker.



She is survived by her daughters, Shawn (Paul) Smith of Addison, Cassondra (Theodore) Clark of Canisteo her son, Dahl Flynn of Florida, four sisters, Dorothy O'Brien of Florida, Frances (Thomas) DeByl of West Virginia, Patricia Wickware of Coxsackie, and Joann Stanton of Webster, her longtime friend and companion, Stanley Hunt of Jasper and his children, Paul Hunt of Jasper, and Elizabeth (Mike) Christenson of Corning, and their children, Kyle Kohler, Brackton Hunt, Jode Hunt of Jasper, and Hannah Christenson and Kayla Christenson of Corning, her aunt, Ellen Tuttle of Hornell, seven grandchildren, Hanna and Aaron Stearns of Newark, Samantha Stuart of Corning, Lance Stuart of Hornell, Joshua (Cassandra) Clark of Canisteo, Jake Clark of Hornell and David (Sarah) Smith of Bath, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell on Sunday from 4 PM until 6 PM followed by the recitation of the rosary by Deacon Robert McCormick,
