Eleanor J. Tinker, 86, formerly of the Old Almond Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday (January 29, 2013) at the Seager-Bates Home in Hornell where she had resided the past 2 years.
Born in Town Of Hornellsville, May 21, 1926, the daughter of Thomas and Elvena Wright Carnes, she had resided in Canisteo and Hornell all her life. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, crocheting, sitting on her porch, and long car rides.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Richard Tinker in 1987, her daughter, Dorothea Tinker as well as 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by 5 daughters, Judy Smith of Hornell, Janet Buckley of Hornell, Gwen Ross of Hornell, Kay (Jim) Terwilliger of Hornell and Lois Mansfield of Rochester, 3 sons, Dale Tinker of Hornell, Dennis (Susan) Tinker of Canisteo and Daryl Tinker of Almond. 17 grandchildren, Jeffery (Linda) Doan, Mark Terwilliger, Todd (Tracy) Terwilliger, Kurt Terwilliger, Bradley (Mariana) Terwilliger, John (Shannon) Buckley, Debbie (Bob) Pierce, Michelle Smith, Raymond Smith, Carrie (Eric) Wise, Eric Mansfield, Chris Tinker, Tonia Tinker, Brian Tinker, Stacey (Ted) Illi , Jamie (Chip) Rose, and Chet Yanni, also 17 Great Grandchildren and her good friend and caregiver, Theresa Bates of Hornell.

The family will be present to receive friends from1 PM until 3 PM Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell where funeral services will follow calling hours at 3:00 PM, Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
