Elaine O’Dell Lamphier 86, longtime resident of the Turnpike Road, and most recently Addison, NY passed away Wednesday (Oct. 9, 2024) at Rochester General Hospital.
Born in Hornell January 23, 1938, she was the daughter of Clifford and Julia Lain Smith. She had been employed in retail sales for several years, including the former Nichols Department Store in Hornell. She had been attending the Addison Methodist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hornell. She had been a member of the Buds & Blossoms Square Dancing Club for several years. she loved doing puzzles, reading Amish books, spending time with family and friends
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Francis O’Dell, her second husband, Jack Lamphier, her son Jonathan O’Dell her sisters, Carolyn Mason and Joan Mason, and her brother Lawrence Smith.
Surviving are her Daughter, Darlene O’Dell of Hornell, her sons, Francis (Dixie) O’Dell of Hornell, Timothy (Sara) O’Dell of North Hornell, and Geoffrey (Cheryl) O’Dell of Olean and her daughter-in-law, Dawn O’Dell of Savona. Also surviving are 13 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews..
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday (Oct. 13, 2024) from 1PM until 4PM at the Bender=Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell where a funeral service will follow calling hours at 4PM. Burial will be in the O’Dell Family Cemetery, Town of Howard.
