Edwin Luther Stratton, 76, passed away Monday (May 5, 2008) in Jasper wherehe had resided since Sept. 2006.
Edwin was born on May 12, 1931 in the Tuscarora Township near Addisonin Steuben County to Luther and Eula(Manley) Stratton. His employment was doing many miscellaneous jobs. He workedas a farm laborer, and in recent years had regular customers in the Canisteoarea where he enjoyed doing yard and lawn work and in the winter he did somesnow removal jobs. Edwin enjoyed listening to music especially western andChristian gospel songs. He also enjoyed his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis of 49 years in 2003;his parents, his infant daughter Rose Marie; two brothers, Ronald and DouglasStratton; two sisters, an infant and Mildred Burrows.
He is survived by five sons; Edwin Lee Stratton of Canisteo,Michael (Helen) Stratton of Canisteo, John (Sue Sweet) Stratton of Fredonia,Scott (Chris) Stratton of Canisteo and Larry Stratton of Hornell, six daughters;Bonnie (Jeff) Bacon of Canisteo, Melody (Mike) Kopetzof Front Royal VA, Shirley (Bob) Metzger of Silver Creek, Mary Ellen (Jeremy) Hayton of Nunda, Becky (Stan DuBois) Griffith of Dansvilleand Tina Vogt of Penn Yan, One Brother; Robert(Emily) Stratton of Sierra Vista AZ, Four sisters; Winifred Matteson ofCoudersport PA, Esther A. Burrows of Wellsboro PA, Eleanor (Wilbur) Gibson ofNunda and Gertrude (Pete) Ackerman of Warsaw. One sister-in-law; MarilynStratton of Dansville, 22 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several niecesand nephews.
