Earl F. Flint Jr., 91, of Glen Avenue, passed away Saturday (Dec. 9, 2023) at Elderwood At Hornell.
Born in Jasper, March 4, 1932, he was the son of Earl F. Flint Sr. and Marie Welch Flint. Earl was a graduate of Jasper Central School and had resided his early life in Jasper. He had resided most of his adult life in Hornell.
Earl proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served as a police officer for the Hornell Police Department for 20 years prior to working as a truck driver and operator for the former A.L. Blades Blacktopping in Hornell. He was a member of the Hornell VFW, the Hornell Moose Lodge and the Hornell American Legion.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
Surviving are his wife Sandra Brown Flint of Hornell, four daughters, Karen Noble of Hornell, Lynne (Ed) Wolfe of Hornell, Marie (Garold) Stewart of Canisteo and Melissa (Mike) Watt of North Carolina, two sons, Earl (Dana) Flint III of Arkport and Mark Flint of Hornell, three sisters, Janette (Charles) Gavitt of Canisteo, Sharon Gibbons of Olean, and Marlene (Dennis) Friends of Woodhull, two brothers, Elijah “Red” Flint of Hornell and Duane (Sue) Flint of Jasper, 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Hornell is assisting the family with arrangements.
