Douglas H. Robie, 53, of Maple St., passed away Sunday (February 4, 2018) at Strong Memorial Hospital.



Born in Urbana, March 3, 1964, the son of Henry and Katherine (Brownson) Robie, he had resided in Savona until his move to Canisteo in 2002. Doug was a member of the Faith Independent Baptist Church in Canisteo where he was a deacon and trustee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Doug will be remembered as a gentle, kind and loving person who always had a smile on his face. On June 17, 1995, he married the former Carol Burleson who survives.



He was predeceased by his daughter; Megan Robie in 2015, mother; Katherine Robie, a special grandmother; Ruby Brownson and a nephew; Derrick Robie.



He is survived by his wife; Carol Robie of Canisteo, daughter; Katie Robie of Canisteo, his father; Henry Robie of Savona, 2 brothers; Dale (Dori) Robie and Dean (Jessica) Robie, 4 sisters; Darlene (Don) Earley, Donita (Emmett) Graham, Dianna (Adam) Stevens and Dawn Gatton as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present on Thursday (February 8, 2018) from 2-5PM , at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo, where funeral services will be held immediately following calling hours at 5PM, Pastor Daniel Todd officiating. Burial will be in Bennetts Creek Cemetery Friday at 11AM.
