Dorothy E Jones, 85, of
155 Olean Street, passed away Tuesday (January 22, 2008) in herhome with her family by her side.
Born, March 16, 1922, in BataviaN.Y.she was the daughter of Joseph and Clara Allyn Lang, the oldest of eleven children.
On July 5,1946, she married Donald B. Jones who predeceased her in 1993.
In 1939 Dorothy graduated from East Pembroke High School ,sheattended Buffalo State College, earning a bachelors degree in education, later sheattend Alfred University receiving a masters degree in 1966. Dorothy had taught for 2 years in Delevan Central School Districtand retired from Angelica Central Schoolin 1983, after 29 years of service.
Dorothy and Donaldfor many years owned and operated the Red & White Grocery Store inAngelica. Dorothy's greatest love in life was her children, grandchildren, andgreat grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by, her sister Marge Bromsted, brother Jerome Lang, and brothers in law RaymondRichardson, and Walter Kowalik .
She is survived by her daughter Sally (William) Geoppner of Angelica, her son Robert L (Eugenia) Jones ofAngelica 5 grandchildren Jennifer (Major Prescott) Farris, Michael(AlisonButler) Jones, Jeremy (Leah) Stuck, Chris (Sara) Geoppner,Anne (Matthew Campbell) Geoppner, 6 great grandchildren 6 sisters Mary (Norman)Johnson, Beatrice Richardson, Elizabeth Kowalik,Harriet (James) Worthington, Joanne Lange, Sandra (Phillip) Fraterrigo,2 brothers Alfred (Deanna) Lang, Joseph (Pamela) Lang, sister in law NancyLang, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 7-9pm Friday, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
101 West Ave., Angelica,and also 11am-12pm Saturdaywith Funeral services at 12:00 PMSaturday with Rev. Marc Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery.
